The Apostle Paul arrived in Jerusalem where there had been a mighty move of God to establish and grow His Church. But a problem arose. The new Jewish believers were zealous not only to share the Gospel, but also to adhere even more closely to Jewish law. And, they felt that ALL believers should take Jewish law seriously. Division was beginning to occur in part due to lies being circulated that Paul said "don't practice the Jewish customs." Paul supported the practice of Jewish customs as long as they were not viewed as necessary to saving faith. James - the head of the Church in Jerusalem - and other church leaders met with Paul and they agreed on steps to do what was best for the Kingdom of God and not to be a stumbling block. What can we learn from Paul's willingness to "compromise"?
