God wanted to do a thorough cleansing in the life of Israel and He wants to do the same with us. This requires unpacking our sins and laying them openly, honestly and specifically before God. This brokenness must come before He can bless us again. In Nehemiah 9: 5-38, we see a perfect example of how to confess sin and humbly ask to be delivered from it. This passage of scripture - which is a prayerful example of 2 Chronicles 7:14 - illustrates the four steps in God's cleansing process.
