January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month and in help bringing awareness to the issue we are showing the film "Sound of Freedom" on Friday the 3rd at 7pm (111 Trotter Drive Pinehurst, NC). You can learn more about the movie night by clicking here.
The organization partnered with the film "Sound of Freedom" is OUR Rescue. Their focus is to help bring awareness to the cause and help rescue victims and in-prison perpetrators of human trafficking. If you would like to learn more about their cause or support them you can do so by clicking here.
One simple way you can spread awareness is by drawing a red X on your hand. The red X symbolizes the fight to end modern slavery and human trafficking. If someone asks about it, take the opportunity to share its meaning and encourage them to join the cause.
There is a Human Trafficking Awareness Seminar at the Village Chapel Hall (10 Azalea Rd Pinehurst, NC) on January 24th at 6-8:30pm. You will be able to hear from agents, survivors, and others. It is being put on by Changing Destinies Ministry and if you would like to learn more you can do so by visiting their website.
