Week 6: Prayer As an Expression of Hope (2/5 - 2/9)

by: Bob Huber

Dear Alliance Prayer Partners,God is good! All the time! We’ve experienced His goodness in these 40 days as we’ve been seeking Him in prayer. We live in a dark and messy world. I’m writing this on the heels of another mass shooting in our country. We carry out our lives in a culture where wrong is right and right is wrong. Dire problems exist all around us, but where are those who can solve them? We don’t find hope by looking around but by looking up. The closing words of

In the 1970's, young Greg Laurie was searching for all the right things in all the wrong places until he meets Lonnie Frisbee, a charismatic hippy-street-preacher. Week 4: Prayer As Confession (1/22 - 1/28)

by: Bob Huber

01/21/2023

Dear Alliance Prayer Warriors,As you’ve been giving extra time to prayer during these 40 days, I pray that you are experiencing more of His presence. In week one, we worshiped the Lord in His perfect holiness. While our Lord is holy, let’s humbly admit that we are not. Therefore, Jesus teaches us to pray: “And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors” (Matt. 6:12). When Jesus talks about our debts, He’s talking about our sins or trespasses. He’s teaching us to

Week 3: Prayer As Petition (1/15 - 1/21)

by: Bob Huber

01/14/2023

Dear Praying Alliance Friends,I trust that the Lord is teaching us to pray as we make our way through His modeled prayer. Here in week three, we’re praying these words: “Give us today our daily bread” (Matt. 6:11). Perhaps we could paraphrase that by praying, “Lord, please provide everything we need today.” Everything includes . . . well, everything. When our lives are viewed properly, we realize that we depend on our God for everything we have and everything we need. From

January Memory Verse - Matthew 4:19 (NKJV)

by: Sherryl Nufer

We encourage every member of our church fellowship to memorize Scripture and "hide" it in their hearts. Together, we focus on one verse each month and this month's verse is Matthew 4:19 (NKJV):

"Then He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men."

As you meditate on this verse, ask yourself, "What is God saying to me through this verse?" We will read this verse each Sunday as a group. Then on the fourth Sunday, we will all stand together and declare God's W...

Pre-Prayer for the New Year - Anne Graham Lotz

by: Pastor Ed

12/31/2022

This prayer has been adapted from Anne’s original prayer that was released January 1, 2016.

As I look ahead into the new year and beyond, I wonder…is this the year of His return? In the next ten years, will the world experience the rapture of the church? The seven years of tribulation? The glorious return of Jesus? And the beginning of His millennial kingdom on earth? Everything seems to point to the reality of this possibility. While we may not know what the new year h

A Second Life for Our Former Christmas Tree!

by: Sherryl Nufer

Last year, our church donated our former Christmas tree, lights and decorations to the Knollwood Community of Southern Pines. Our own Larry Kearns headed up the effort to repair the tree, build a base, and get it decorated - all in preparation for a community Christmas tree lighting and caroling event. Larry reports that the community loved this holiday "first" and, in a small way, our church played a part!

Lots of ACTION at this weekend's Women's Mission gathering!
