How would those closest to you describe you? Luke, the writer of the Book of Acts, knew the disciple Stephen very well and described him as a man full of God's grace and power, full of faith and the Holy Spirit. Stephen was a faithful servant of his Lord Jesus. He was also a faithful witness and God opened many doors for him to share the Gospel. It was his wholehearted commitment to his Lord that angered the Jewish leadership so much that they persuaded men to lie about Stephen and then arrested him. But as they accused Stephen, they "stared at Stephen because his face becomae as bright as an angel." God has a plan for each of us, and this arrest was part of God's plan for Stephen, a man who saw Jesus as his treasure!
