In John 12, Jerusalem is preparing to celebrate the Jewish festival of Passover which God commanded them to observe each year. At this special time, the Israelites remembered how God miraculously freed them from slavery, initiated their Exodus from Egypt, and began their journey to the Promised Land. Jesus was about to celebrate His final Passover on this earth when some Greeks asked to meet Jesus to give Him glory. When the disciples told Jesus of their request, He replied with an amazing 3-part paradox of the Christian life. At first, what Jesus said seems contradictory. But Jesus actually demonstrated these 3 principles in His life to bring glory to God.  Do you want to bring glory to God? Then ask God for wisdom to understand these principles, study the example of Jesus, then live them out by the power of the Holy Spirit to bring glory to God!
