Acts 6, the disciple Stephen had been falsely accused, arrested, and brought before the Sandhedrin, the Jewish legal authorities. At the beginning of today's scripture, the high priest asks Stephen, “Are these charges true?” In response, Stephen gave one of the most important addresses in the Books of Acts. In 53 verses, he exposes 5 sins of the Jewish people. He didn't mince words, speaking directly and truthfully, faithful to what would mean his death. As we see Stephen, we must ask ourselves, "Is our faith strong enough to enable us to stand in the face of persecution?" And, "Would we be able to forgive our persecutors?"
