The Pharisees of Jesus's day took it upon themselves to ensure rule-keeping by creating many man-made rules that added to those given by God to Moses in the Bible. Then, they took it upon themselves to punish those who did not keep all the rules. The Pharisees watched Jesus and His disciples very carefully hoping to catch them breaking the laws. Today's scripture passage details one of those times. It includes the accusation of the Pharisees, Jesus's response to their accusations, and how Jesus demonstrated His authority to challenge the Pharisees traditions.
