Today, we begin our study of the first three chapters of the Book of Revelation which was penned by the Apostle John under inspiration of the Holy Spirit. In verse 1, John writes "The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave to him to show his servants what must soon take place." While Revelation is a letter from the ascended Jesus to the 7 churches of Asia at John's time, the words of this book are equally applicable to the church today.
Today, we set the stage to ensure we have a common understanding of two things. First, that this book is a revelation to the church which is comprised of those who have entrusted their lives to Jesus. Second, that this book is the revelation of Jesus, the Faithful Witness.
