Today's text sets the foundation for engaging in spiritual battle - "be strong in the Lord." What does this mean? It means that our confidence, strength and success is based solely on our relationship with Jesus. Every day, we must renew our minds and hearts through meditating on God's Word, apply it to our lives, and spend time with Him in prayer. In faith, we must admit our human weakness, draw upon God's resources and trust in His promises. Without this renewal, we can easily be defeated.
